Blast furnace as the heart of the ironworks was designed in the 16th century . This was followed by a number of processing . The last and largest it occurred in the second half of the 19th century . Facilities were abandoned to build a modern steelworks and strongly the ravages of time . Conservation interventions have prevented their further deterioration and from them create an outdoor museum where visitors can learn about the former iron technology .
