The Karavanke/Karawanken region is a scenic mountain range between Slovenia and Austria. Explore the hiking trails, sport climbing crags, and via ferratas on both sides of the border. There are also numerous natural and cultural sites, plus several lakes, where you can spend a pleasant, relaxing day.
Trans Karavanke MBT trail was created within the Alpe Adria Karavanke/ Karawanken project, implemented in the frame og the Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Slovenia-Austria ind co-financed by the European fund for Regional Development. The aim of the project is development of tourist offers in the Karavanke/Xarawanken cross-border area.
The Pristava Mountain Biking Learning Centre was established as part of the Alpe Adria Karavanke/Karawanken Project. It is located near the Trans-Karavanke biking trail. An outside area with a bike track and mountain biking equipment is available at the centre. The building has 3 rooms with 8 beds in total, a common room, toilets, a shared bathroom and a bike storage area. The programme participants can stay at the Mountain Biking Learning Centre upon prior reservation.
Recommended hikes are marked on the map. Red and white marks for hiking trails and yellow marks for local hiking trails appear regularly along the route. The difficulty levels of individual trails depend on the difference in elevation and the length of the trail.
